A UK ALPACA FARM BREEDING FOR THE FUTURE

Hole Wood Farm is situated in Crowborough, a small town on the East Sussex/Kent border, in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Hole Wood Farm is currently home to 20+ alpacas(…and counting!) and is run by Ashley and Nikki Groom

We fell in love with alpacas when we visited a herd for sale around 2010. We walked into the field and instantly felt the calm that always seems to fall around these unique, beautiful animals. The little hums they make and their gentle nature had us captivated and we were enamoured from that first meeting. We didn’t end up buying that herd, but it was a yearning for us that never went away.

After a series of events led us to change our lifestyle and focus on time together and doing something we love, we started shaping our alpaca dream!

The initial thought was to purchase 4 alpacas… and in October 2021, we were getting ready to welcome not 4, but 17 alpacas to our farm!

We decided to live the dream and do it properly!

 

Our focus is on the welfare of our herd and the health, quality, and friendliness of the alpacas we breed.

Our Hole Wood Farm alpacas don’t mind snow days as long as the hay rack is full! Alpacas’ fleece insulates them by trapping warm air in and keeping the cold out. Our HWF alpaca duvet keeps us toasty warm at night too! #alpacalove #snowday
